IA Team 12.jpg

Island Audiology is a locally-owned independent practice, and was founded in 2005 by Dr. Robin Wielins. Our team is comprised of Doctors of Audiology, Doctoral Interns, and our support staff who are committed to providing innovative technology in an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect.  You will not find gimmicks, coupons, or limited-time offers at Island Audiology.

Your experience at Island Audiology will be very different from what you find at a retail hearing aid dispenser or big-box store.  Island Audiology is the only Audigy-Certified practice in Hawaii, which ensures that you will always be seen by a Doctor of Audiology, which is the highest qualification in the field of audiology.  If there are devices that could help you hear better or help you cope with tinnitus, we'll work together to find the best solution for you!

We can serve you at any of our locations on Kauai, Oahu, Maui & the Big Island.  We provide diagnostic hearing tests, fit and adjust hearing aids, tinnitus devices, hearing protection, and other assistive devices to suit all types of hearing levels and lifestyles.  We service most major brands of hearing aids, such as AGX, Starkey, Oticon, Resound, Widex, Signia, Siemens, and Phonak.  We serve keiki (age 5 years and older) to kupuna, including veterans with current VA referrals.  We also offer Financing through Wells Fargo, allowing for monthly payments over time.

"Your hearing is important to your quality of life. We are here to help you improve it and preserve it.
Hear Better. Live Better."

what our patients are saying about us:

  • I spent years compensating for my hearing loss, and not knowing what was possible. I had worn a hearing aid in my right ear since childhood, but had never had my bad left ear amplified before. It was quite a revelation to hear with both ears and made all the difference in the world. It was as if a piece of my brain woke up! Before coming to Island Audiology, I was the guy that sat in the corner, always having people repeat. Now people can't get anything past me. Hearing aids have made a huge difference for me, and now I can appreciate music and hear sounds and lyrics I hadn't heard before. I never heard the high riffs of "Stairway to Heaven" until I began using two hearing aids. I can also hear all the other singers in my church choir now, and even if the piano needs tuning.

  • RELIEF! I have suffered with tinnitus for the last 3 years. Dr. Robin Wielins at Island Audiology tested my hearing and fitted me with a Starkey Multiflex Tinnitus technology hearing aid. Relief came instantly, hallelujah! I have had follow-up appointments for tuning (included). It was also nice to know the device came with a return policy if it did not work for me. Needless to say I’m keeping it. I strongly recommend the Doctors at Island audiology who can help you. Dr. Robin, thank you for your skills. You certainly have made my life better.

  • Hearing Aids have really helped me in my every day life. The bluetooth technology to stream music and phone calls has really been helpful especially in the workplace. Don't hesitate to wait on getting hearing aids.
If you need hearing aids, you can't go wrong going with Dr. Wielins and her team. They are awesome and so helpful. Its not easy finding someone you can trust.

  • For me, my hearing loss was very subtle – occurring over an extended period of time. I can’t tell you when it started. It just happened. When I found myself having to place myself closer to a speaker at a meeting in order not to miss crucial information, when I found myself constantly adjusting the volume on our TV, when I found myself regularly lip-reading to “hear” someone talking, when I could not hear the siren of an emergency vehicle while driving until it was almost on me; I knew it was time to get help.
Life is good now. Why? 10 years ago I visited Island Audiology and got my first set of hearing aids. Not only did the hearing aids resolve those issues described above, but I also was able to hear simple things like the sound of the turn signal of our car, the lapping of waves against the side of our cruise ship, the yelping of our pet dog with an urgent need to take care of business, and the angelic voices of my grandchildren calling “Papa” from afar or in a crowded room. Dr. Wielins and her staff at Island Audiology have taken good care of me from day one. I have every confidence that they will continue to do so in the future.
