Robin Wielins, Au.D.

Dr. Wielins founded Island Audiology in Honolulu in March 2005. Located in Honolulu, she has grown the practice to four islands, and oversees audiology operations for all offices.  Dr. Wielins graduated from the University of Florida with her Doctor of Audiology degree in 2001.  She was one of the first graduates of the on-campus Au.D. program at UF, and completed her Au.D. residency at Shands Hospital. Dr. Wielins spends her free time doing yoga, bicycling, and swimming.

Kelsey Alpeter, Au.D.

Dr. Alpeter earned her doctorate from the University of South Alabama after fulfilling her clinical externship year at a private practice in Greenville, South Carolina. Dr. Alpeter received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Auburn University in Alabama. War Eagle!  In her free time, she enjoys snorkeling, SCUBA diving, and walking her dog, Oliver.

Dr. Cioffi earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts after completing her clinical externship year at Island Audiology’s Maui office.  She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Rhode Island.  Dr. Cioffi has had the opportunity to serve patients from all of the Hawaiian islands during her time with us, and enjoys exploring each island and discovering it's uniqueness.

Benjamin thompson, Au.D.

Licensed & Certified Doctor of Audiology
Serving Kona

Dr. Benjamin Thompson recently joined Island Audiology. Prior to that, he worked at University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center, one of the top ten hospitals in the country, according to U.S. News. Dr. Thompson’s focus is adult hearing aids, speech understanding in background noise, and tinnitus management. He also has experience programming cochlear implants. Dr. Thompson is a past board member of the California Academy of Audiology. He earned his Doctor of Audiology degree from University of the Pacific in San Francisco, California. You may see him around practicing guitar, meditation, surfing, or yoga. 

"When you come to me for better hearing, I become your guide to make daily communication easier. The best part of my job is when my patients return to me in gratitude, explaining how their improved speech clarity allows them to live in greater harmony with their family, friends, or at work."


paige haberman, M.a.

Paige Haberman is currently a Doctor of Audiology student at the University of Iowa, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Hearing Science, a certificate in Deaf Studies, and, more recently, her Master of Arts degree in Audiology. Paige was born and raised in the California San Francisco Bay Area, which has fostered passions for both the outdoors and city life, making Oahu the perfect place to complete her education

Derek Beaudoin is a student in the Doctor of Audiology program at the University of North Texas and is completing his clinical externship year at Island Audiology.  He received his Bachelor of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology with a minor in Music at the University of North Texas in May 2015. In his free time he enjoys going to the beach, exploring Hawaii, and playing computer games.
