Robin Wielins, Au.D.

Dr. Wielins graduated from the University of Florida with her Doctor of Audiology degree in 2001. She was one of the first graduates of the on-campus Au.D. program at UF. Dr. Wielins participated in research during her undergraduate and graduate training at UF, including her Bachelor's Honors Thesis, "Effects of Otitis Media with Effusion on Speech Perception in Children" and her Master's Thesis, "Attitudes of Older Adults toward Assistive Devices". She completed her Au.D. residency at the UF Communicative Disorders Clinic at Shands Hospital. Dr. Wielins has lived in Honolulu since 2003 and founded Island Audiology in 2005. She is based in Honolulu, but oversees audiology operations on all islands. Dr. Wielins spends her free time bicycling, ocean swimming, and enjoying all of the beauty that Hawaii has to offer.

Chelsea Gibbons, Au.D.

Dr. Chelsea Gibbons graduated from Utah State University before earning her Doctor of Audiology degree at the University of Utah.  While attending graduate school she gained experience working at the local children’s hospital, school for the deaf, and the university hearing aid clinic.  Dr. Gibbons specializes in comprehensive hearing tests, hearing aid services, tinnitus management, and custom hearing protection.  She enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and traveling the world.  In 2007 she had the opportunity to go to Kenya to fit hearing aids on 30 deaf students.

Alexa Murzyn, Au.D.

Alexa Murzyn photoDr. Murzyn became interested in audiology during placement in a hearing-impaired preschool class during her undergraduate education. After living for a year in Japan teaching English, she earned her Doctorate of Audiology degree at the University of Florida on-campus program. Dr. Murzyn completed her Au.D. externship training at the University of Texas at Dallas Callier Center for Communication Disorders. At Callier, she was able to participate in intensive rehabilitation seminars, as well as experience many types of clinical settings. In her spare time, Dr. Murzyn enjoys reading, knitting, hiking, watching documentaries, and learning about new places, people and things.
